Jamma

We bring like-minded people together to tackle the biggest challenges faced by our planet and its people. At the heart of our work is the intention to change lives for the better and contribute to a sense of global community.



Jamma International is a UK-registered charity founded in 2010 to encourage, support, fund and implement meaningful conservation, wellbeing, education and innovation projects around the world. We support organisations that want to tackle issues to help communities and the environment thrive.

Integrity speaks to the honesty, openness and transparency we expect to be at the centre of everything we do. Those with integrity endeavour to be truthful, owning up to mistakes and learn from them.


People and organisations with integrity value other people and act with care, consideration and accountability in all they do. Jamma strives to be organised and proactive, making sure we deliver on our commitments. Those with integrity are gracious, they express gratitude and recognise the achievements of the people they work with. Acting with integrity enables us to meet challenges without being fearful.


Integrity prevents us from making false promises. Rather, our integrity allows us to deliver effective results and always follow through on our commitments unless we agree that our course needs to be changed.

To us at Jamma. community is not simply a group of people with common aims. Community is for us the value that knits everything and all of us together; from our partnerships with villagers in the remotest parts of Africa, to our role in supporting advocacy globally. We would like everyone to have a sense of community that is inspired by the common goal of wellbeing for the planet and its people.


At Jamma, community encapsulates the tangible qualities that groups of like-minded people display. For us, community is about cooperation, a sense of unity, generosity, kindness, compassion and the willingness to share.

It takes courage to create change and take action. To us at Jamma, courage ignites and fires our resolve. It is an important principle of action that we hold to, and look for in those we work with and support.  

Our courage involves standing up for what we believe in, keeping our integrity and being truthful with ourselves and others. Courageous action is not about rushing in. We believe in deliberative action and choosing the right time. Those who have courage are resilient and adaptable in the face of any eventuality.

Courage is the ability to remain optimistic even when faced with challenges. It is the foundation of our philosophy.

JAMMA'S IMPACT

As our first trainees progress through the programme, it’s becoming increasingly easy to see the positive impact that the training, support and studio space is having on these young adults. None of this would have been possible without the support and generosity of Jamma, and we hope that they share in our trainees’ success as much as we do.

We are hugely grateful to the Trustees of Jamma International for supporting our Fundraising & Partnerships position. This post has been critical to the development of our charity, enabling us to increase funding and develop a wider supporter base, especially with local corporate and community groups, securing a greater level of resilience for Oakleaf.

One of the challenges that African Parks is facing in managing Odzala Kokoua National Park in the heart of the second largest tropical rainforest in the world, is mitigating human elephant conflict. Thanks to the support of Jamma International we have been able to initiate beehive fencing as a new intervention, enhancing protection as well as an alternative source of income to the local communities.

Together with Jamma International’s support, WWF is developing an enterprise programme around two conservancies on the edge of the Masai Mara which aims to create sustainable livelihoods for people that also benefit nature. We are hugely grateful to Jamma for their expertise and support of this programme which will benefit people and nature in this region and beyond.

With generous support from Jamma, Resource Africa supports the efforts of communities throughout Southern Africa to develop resilient livelihoods and enhance conservation outcomes by securing and exercising their rights to sustainably manage their natural resources and ensure their voices are heard in important international debates.

With Jamma's support and guidance we have the opportunity to apply our expertise on a broader landscape scale, and enable real changes for leopard conservation in the longer term. We are already seeing the benefits of this project starting to radiate across entire ecosystems and to the next generation of conservationists
